We were chosen by our Pastor (spiritual head) to serve in the capacity of being a Covenant Prayer Partner/Mentor to those who will be joining the Union Baptist Church Family. It is an honor and a privilege, BUT it is also a serious task.
Being a Covenant Prayer Partner/Mentor is a process of opening and sharing our lives with others. It can be a short term or a long term relationship with another person to help him/her grow physically, emotionally and most of all in this case spiritually. We are to serve as a prayer covering to others. This does not mean, "What can I teach you?" Instead, it means, "How can I help you along this journey?". As Covenant Partners/Mentors we are to invest ourselves in others as Christ's ambassadors one life at a time. As Covenant Prayer Partners we are not perfect nor do we have all the answers. We do need to take the time to get involved in someone else's life for the right reasons. Jesus, our master mentor, is, has been and will always be involved in our lives. He feels our pain and knows our joy. As Covenant Partners, we are not taking the place of Jesus, but we can share our relationship with the Lord with someone else to help him/her grow in a personal relationship with Him through prayer.
It is our prayer that through Titus 2 Covenant Prayer partnership we will encourage men, women, boys and girls to live in this present age, eager to glorify Christ and be a willing vessel to help mentor generations of hope through prayer. We are living in a AGE where there is so much MESS going on, BUT there is a MESSAGE that can and will change lives.
The Word of GOD.
